Steve Sandburg

Emmy-nominated composer Steve Sandberg currently scores "Dora the Explorer" for Nickelodeon/CBS. David Finkelstein's video of his song, "Honoring the Ancestors", was featured at the 2002 and 2003 Outmusic Awards. He recently scored the film "Climbing Miss Sophie," which had its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, and also wrote the music for David Drake's "The Night Larry Kramer Kissed Me". He has toured as keyboardist and vocalist with David Byrne, Ruben Blades and Bebel Gilberto. His current solo concerts, "Chants, Songs and Musical Landscapes" are improvised shamanistic journeys bringing together his love of world music, pop, jazz and electronica. Listeners have described his sound as "music from a country I've never been to but always wanted to go."
